3 New Spots Everyone in St. George Is Talking About Right Now

In-N-Out Double-Double burgers and Animal Style fries

If it feels like Southern Utah is opening a new favorite restaurant every other week lately — you're not imagining it. Our little red-rock corner of the world keeps landing on "fastest-growing" lists, and the food scene is racing to keep up. Three spots in particular have my clients, neighbors, and honestly my own family buzzing this month. Here's the scoop.

1. In-N-Out Burger — a Second Location Is Coming to St. George 🍔

Let's start with the one that's had everyone talking. In-N-Out is adding another St. George location at 4643 South Pioneer Road.

We're lucky to already have In-N-Out over in Washington, but if you live on the west or south side of town, you know that drive across St. George at lunch isn't always quick. This new spot puts those Double-Doubles, Animal Style fries, and the not-so-secret menu a whole lot closer for a big chunk of the valley. An official opening date hasn't been announced yet, but the building's going up and the countdown is officially on.

Pro tip for when it opens

Expect a line. In-N-Out openings are basically local holidays. Bring patience, bring an appetite, and maybe don't schedule anything important right after.

2. Riggatti's Wood Fired Pizza — a St. George Staple Lands in Hurricane 🍕

Some places are new. Riggatti's is family. A genuine St. George staple, Riggatti's has been slinging hand-tossed, wood-fired, artisan pizza in Southern Utah for years — real Neapolitan-style pies cooked hot and fast, with dough made fresh daily. And now they're bringing that blistered, bubbly crust to Hurricane with their third location.

You'll find the new shop at 34 S 1400 W in Hurricane, right by Bucks Ace Hardware. Same hand-stretched dough, same fired-in-minutes char, now a whole lot closer for the Hurricane and La Verkin crowd. If you've got a go-to Riggatti's order (or a strong opinion on their pizza), this is your sign to introduce the east-side neighbors to it.

Third location and counting — not bad for a hometown favorite. If you haven't read my full take on why Riggatti's is my pick for the best pizza in St. George, check it out here.

3. Canyon Eatery — Elevated Italian with a Southern Utah Soul 🍝

For date night, celebrations, or "let's actually get dressed up" dinners, Canyon Eatery is the new name to know — over in Hurricane at 495 E. 800 North. It's an elevated Italian kitchen with a Southern Utah soul: handcrafted cocktails and a chef-driven menu built to impress.

Think Spicy Vodka Rigatoni with Calabrian chile and parmesan, Spaghetti & Meatballs made with Utah wild-game meatballs, and a Wild Mushroom & Truffle Pizza that's worth the drive on its own. Open Tuesday–Saturday, 11:30am–9pm — reservations recommended (they book through OpenTable). The whole concept leans into refined dining inspired by the red rock and Zion right in the backyard. Save this one for something worth celebrating (a new home closing, perhaps? 😉).

Why This Matters (Beyond Dinner)

Here's the thing I love as someone who lives and works in this market: new restaurants are a growth signal. National chains like In-N-Out don't pick a city on a whim — they follow rooftops, traffic, and momentum. Local favorites like Riggatti's expanding to a third location means the growth out east is real. And a chef-driven concept like Canyon Eatery betting on the area says a lot about where this community is headed.

More great food, more amenities, more reasons people want to call Southern Utah home. That's good news whether you own here, are thinking about buying, or just love a good Double-Double.
